What’s included in our Birth Doula Support Package?

Labor Support

With a personalized plan of action, your doula will support you and your partner throughout your entire labor. This support focuses on offering you comfort measures, emotional support, partner support, as well as a calm, consistent presence in the room. We take special care to ensure your partner has every opportunity to be as involved as desired. Once your baby is delivered, your doula will stay an additional 2 hours to support any further needs you may have.

Prenatal Meetings

These meetings play an important role in the overall experience of your birth with a doula. We use these meetings to help you prepare and discuss your concerns and questions regarding your pregnancy, labor, and birth. Your doula will help guide you through creating your birth plan as well as inform you about comfort measures, breathing techniques, and educational resources.

Postpartum Meetings

The purpose of these meetings are to support you and your family after the birth.  Your doula will come visit you to provide evidence based information about newborn and postpartum care, provide breastfeeding or infant feeding support, giving space to process your birth experience. Your doula can also help with the transition into parenthood with practical tasks like light housework or meal prep. These are just a few ways we support you in postpartum.

Personalized Birth Plan

There are many decisions to be made during labor and delivery. We’ll help you by providing the evidence based resources, information and to help create your Personalized Birth Plan. By having a birth plan, you have the confidence that your support team knows your desires for your birth experience.

Infant Feeding Support

Every feeding journey is different and your doula will be there to assist you in establishing your feeding relationship with your baby. We can help you plan and prepare for breastfeeding or other feeding before baby arrives, provide resources and support for meeting any challenges along the way.

On-Call Peace of Mind

From the time of hire, your doula will be available for questions, concerns, and support during the duration of the relationship. Your doula will be on-call starting from one week before the due date to one week after. If for any reason your doula is unable to attend, the backup doula will be ready to support you.

Educational Resources

In addition to your health care provider, your doula will assist you in acquiring the evidence based knowledge needed to make informed decisions about your pregnancy and birth.

Faith-Based Care

Because birth affects the whole person we want to care for all of your needs, in addition to the physical and emotional. Many people have found that focusing on their personal faith can play an important role in their birth experience. At your request, we are happy to integrate Bible passages and faith practices into your birth experience.

Photography

As your doula, our focus will be on supporting you and your family, but if able and desired we’d be happy to take photographs during labor and delivery. If you’d like to hire a professional photographer, we can provide recommendations.
